GCAP: Genome-wide characterization of complex variants and their phenotypic effects in African populations (Contact-PI)

Prof. Jelili O. Oyelade is a Computer Science (Bioinformatics) Professor in the Computer and Information Sciences Department, Covenant University, Ota, Nigeria. A post-doctoral Fellow at Jena State University Hospital, Jena, Germany. He is a leader of the Covenant University Bioinformatics Research Cluster (CUBRe) https://cubre.covenantuniversity.edu.ng/ ) and Academic Program Coordinator under Covenant Applied Informatics and Communication Africa Centre of Excellence (CApIC-ACE)(https://ace.covenantuniversity.edu.ng/) funded by the World Bank, Covenant University. A Principal Investigator (PI) in Covenant University funded research and a Co-I in the World Bank funded Covenant Applied Informatics and Communication African Center of Excellence (CApIC-ACE). Contact PI, "Genome-wide characterization of complex variants and their phenotypic effects in African populations" project. Prof. Jelili O. Oyelade has the expertise, leadership, training, and motivation necessary to successfully carry out the research project in the Bioinformatics research field. My research focuses on computational identification of signaling and metabolic pathways in Plasmodium falciparum, Analysis of Gene/Protein-Protein Interaction Networks, Host-pathogen protein-protein interaction (HPPPI), and Machine Learning and its application to biological data. Mathematical Epidemiological modelling, etc. He has successfully supervised 7 Ph.D. and 14 M.Sc. students. He has published over forty (40) peer-reviewed scientific papers in high-impact factor journals.
