Bridging Gaps in the ELSI of Data Science Health Research in Nigeria (BridgELSI) (Pre doctoral trainee)
I hold an MSc in Epidemiology and Medical Statistics from the University of Ibadan and a BTech in Physiology from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology. With over 14 years of experience in public health research, I have developed comprehensive expertise in epidemiology, biostatistics, and health data management. For the past six years, I have received extensive training and mentoring as a predoctoral researcher under Professor Clement Adebamowo's supervision. Over the last four years, I have served as Research Associate on the Bridging Gaps in the Ethical, Legal, and Social Implications of Data Science Health Research (BridgELSI) project, exploring ethical oversight frameworks for data science health research. As National Coordinator for the Nigerian National System of Cancer Registries (2019-2022), I scaled cancer registration efforts from 20 to 33 registries and implemented mHealth-based data collection systems. Previously, I served as Data Manager for the African Female Breast Cancer Epidemiology Study (AFBRECANE), managing REDCap databases and conducting data linkage across multiple sites. My clinical research experience includes the THRIVES stroke prevention study and CogFAST-NG cognitive impairment research, where I recruited and followed over 250 participants combined, conducting comprehensive assessments and managing longitudinal data. I am proficiency in using Python, R, STATA; expertise in survival analysis, regression modeling, and qualitative study design; experience with REDCap database management and mHealth data collection systems.
