Genome-wide characterization of complex variants and their phenotypic effects in African populations (Post Doctoral fellow)
Yagoub Adam is a distinguished researcher who holds a Bachelor of Science (Honors) degree in Life Sciences (Biology) from Al-Neelain University, which he successfully completed in 2006. He furthered his academic journey by obtaining a PhD in Bioinformatics from the prestigious University of So Paulo in 2019. Currently serving as a postdoctoral fellow at Covenant University, Yagoub is deeply engaged in advancing the field of Genetics, with a specialized emphasis on Bioinformatics. His research interests are diverse and impactful, encompassing critical themes such as the genomics of the African population, the intricacies of tandem repeats, and post-GWAS (Genome-Wide Association Studies) analysis. He is particularly passionate about personalized medicine, striving to tailor healthcare solutions to individual genetic profiles. Additionally, Yagoub examines the fundamental biological functions of long non-coding RNAs, thereby contributing to a deeper understanding of gene regulation and expression. Through his work, he aims to bridge the knowledge gaps and foster advancements that can significantly impact human health and well-being.
