Dr. Corine Ngufor is an Associate Professor of Medical Entomology and Malaria Prevention at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM). She has extensive field experience in mosquito biology, vector control and malaria prevention across sub-Saharan Africa. Dr. Ngufor holds a Master's degree in the Biology and Control of Disease Vectors and a PhD in Infectious Diseases, both from LSHTM. Her doctoral research focused on the use of insecticide combinations to enhance the control of insecticide-resistant malaria vectors in Africa. Since joining LSHTM in 2011, she has supervised and coordinated numerous WHO Phase I, II and III vector control product evaluation studies in Tanzania, Cte d'Ivoire, Burkina Faso, Cameroon and Benin. Based in Benin since 2013, Dr. Ngufor led the establishment of the GLP-certified CREC/LSHTM Collaborative Research Programme (www.crec-lshtm.org), currently implementing a wide portfolio of laboratory, semi-field, and community trials evaluating new tools (ITNs, IRS, Spatial repellents, ATSBs etc) for controlling insecticide-resistant malaria vectors under her direct supervision. In addition to her work in vector control, Dr. Ngufor has led several public health implementation projects. These include the UNITAID-funded Plus Project, assessing the impact of perennial malaria chemoprevention in Benin, and the USAID-funded MaCRA Project.
