    Dr. Oshin Sharma is a Research Associate in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) and is affiliated with the Case Biomanufacturing and Microfabrication Laboratory, directed by Professor Umut A. Gurkan. Her research focuses on tissue-on-chip technologies, applied microfluidics, point-of-care (POC) medical devices, and translational biomedical engineering. Dr. Sharma earned her Ph.D. in Biotechnology from Academia Sinica in Taiwan, where she studied endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress responses in photosynthetic organisms and trichome development. She previously served as a Research Project Manager at the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, where she developed a morphology-based POC test for sickle cell detection.
