Dr. Lucas N. Amenga-Etego is a Senior Research Fellow at the West African Centre for Cell Biology of Infectious Pathogens (WACCBIP), University of Ghana. He received a DPhil in malaria genetic epidemiology from the University of Oxford, UK. His background is in microbiology, genetic/genomic epidemiology and bioinformatics. His research interest is in infectious diseases with specific focus on using bioinformatics tools to understand parasite evolution and track antimalarial drugs and insecticide resistance against front-line interventions. Also, malaria parasite population genetics and human host-parasite interactions.
