INFORM: Role of Data Streams In Informing Infection Dynamics in Africa (Masters Student)

My name is Danilo de Castro Silva. I'm a Brazilian currently living in South Africa. I hold a bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, from the Federal University of Itajub (Brazil). During my undergraduate studies, I completed two internships as a software engineer, where I focused on building user interfaces, databases, and information systems for managing sales data. In May 2023, I joined the Centre for Epidemic Response and Innovation (CERI) as a Master's student and researcher. My project consists of designing a new approach to store and manage heterogeneous data from bioinformatics and health-related areas. Our goal is to create an open-source, replicable, and user-friendly system to support data analysis through data federation. Additionally, I joined the INFORM Africa group to work as a contributor to heterogeneous data management with the creation of my tool. I'm an enthusiast about software engineering, data engineering, and data science, especially their applications in bioinformatics.
