Dr. Richard Bruce Lamptey is the Deputy Librarian at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Ghana. He holds a PhD in Information Science and has expertise in digital libraries, open access, data curation, and information literacy. Dr. Lamptey is a national advocate for open science and has played a key role in establishing Ghana's first institutional open access mandate at KNUST. He serves as EIFL Country Coordinator for Ghana, a board member of SPARC Africa, and an associate editor of the Ghana Library Journal. He has received multiple awards, including KNUST's Best Research Support Staff (2023) and has published widely on scholarly communication and library science in Africa. He is also an executive member of AHILA. His work focuses on making academic resources more accessible in low-resource environments and strengthening the role of libraries in research and innovation.
