CHEAQI-MNCH: CHaracterizing Effects of Air Quality In Maternal, Newborn and Child Health: The CHEAQI-MNCH Research Project (MPI)
Recent Career Summary An applied geo-spatial data scientist with a primary interest on applications to climate change, the environment and health, I am a Research Scientist at the Centre for Sexual Health, HIV and AIDS Research (CeSHHAR), and a senior lecturer at the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (LSTM). I am also Senior lecturer and former head of department for the surveying and geomatics department at Midlands State University (MSU), both in Zimbabwe. My role at CeSHHAR (LSTM global research hub) involves leading a team of data scientists on NIH funded work investigating influences of heat, air pollution and other environmental factors on maternal new-born and child health. At MSU, I lead the Place Alert Labs (PALs), a mixed methods health geography/GISc research initiative. Through PALs, my team does research on the mediating effect of geography on health outcomes, with a recent focus on maternal health.
