DS-CHANGE: Data Science for Child Health Now in Ghana (Masters Student)
Tayyiba Amartey is an emerging scientist from Ghana passionate about using data science to address pressing health challenges in Africa. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), where she developed a strong foundation in molecular biology and computational analysis. Following her degree, she served as a Teaching Assistant in the Biochemistry Department, where she supported undergraduate learning and mentored students, deepening her commitment to scientific education and capacity building. Currently, Tayyiba is pursuing a master's program in Biomedical Data Science at the National Institute for Mathematical Sciences (NIMS) under the DS-CHANGE (Data Science for Child Health in Ghana) programme. Her focus lies in applying data-driven approaches to understand and improve child health outcomes, integrating her background in biochemistry with advanced analytics and computational tools.
