    DS-CHANGE: Data Science for Child Health Now in Ghana (DS-CHANGE Trainee)

    Dr. Adoma Odame (n�e Dwomo-Fokuo) is a Ghanaian paediatrician and child health advocate committed to improving healthcare for children, especially in underserved areas. Born in Dunedin, New Zealand, she currently serves as Senior Specialist Paediatrician and Head of both the Child Health and Public Health Departments at HopeXchange Medical Centre in Kumasi. She previously held leadership roles at the Presbyterian Hospital, Dormaa Ahenkro, including Medical Director. Dr. Odame holds an MSc in Paediatric Emergency Medicine from the University of Edinburgh and is a Fellow of the West African College of Physicians. She also lectures in Paediatrics at KNUST and the University of Cape Coast. She has led the establishment of neonatal and paediatric units, conducted nationwide newborn care training, and contributed to national health guidelines and advocacy efforts in areas such as breastfeeding, child protection, and paediatric cancer. She has represented Ghana at major international conferences, including the World Health Assembly, and published in peer-reviewed journals. A regional chair of the Medical Women Association of Ghana, Dr. Odame is known for her leadership, mentorship, fundraising efforts, and commitment to child-centred health policy and care.
