Dr. Muhumuza Amos is a dedicated Ugandan obstetrician and lecturer with a Master of Medicine in Obstetrics and Gynaecology from Mbarara University of Science and Technology. With over 7 years of clinical and leadership experience, I served in key roles at institutions like Kagando Hospital, Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital, and Kampala International University Teaching Hospital, where am currently lecturing and practicing. My professional journey combines hands-on maternal health care with academic mentorship, supervision of junior doctors, and medical education. Dr. Muhumuza is a certified researcher, having contributed to public health projects including HIV care, Ebola vaccination, and family planning interventions under WHO and USAID. My passion for data-driven healthcare is evidenced through the work I perform as a research assistant on the AVE-MAP project, where I supported data collection, manuscript writing and AI/ML integration for maternal health improvement. I trained in statistical tools like STATA and REDCap, and with a foundational background in computer applications, he brings a strong data science mindset to clinical problem-solving. Attending this Data for Health in Africa & 5th DS-I Africa Consortium Meeting aligns with my ambition to bridge clinical expertise with analytics to transform maternal health outcomes in resource-limited settings.
