    Dr. Alimatu Salam, FGCP Senior Specialist Paediatric Oncologist, Kumasi South Regional Hospital, Ghana Dr. Alimatu Salam is a Fellow of the Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons and serves as a senior specialist paediatric oncologist at Kumasi South Regional Hospital. Since obtaining her membership in 2014, she has played key roles in strengthening paediatric and neonatal care in Ghana. She began her career at Ejisu Government Hospital and later served at Manhyia Government Hospital, where she led the establishment of newborn care units and trained healthcare workers in neonatal resuscitation through the "Helping Babies Breathe" initiative. Dr. Salam has trained over 100 healthcare professionals in paediatric care and is recognised for her commitment to mentorship and capacity-building within the healthcare system. She currently heads the Paediatric Oncology Unit at Kumasi South Hospital, overseeing the diagnosis, treatment, and management of childhood cancers. Her work also includes a strong focus on benign haematology conditions and the broader challenges of delivering paediatric oncology services in low-resource settings. A passionate advocate for improving outcomes for children with cancer in Ghana, Dr. Salam combines clinical expertise with a deep commitment to health system strengthening, making her a leading voice in paediatric oncology care in the region.
