DSpace: Utilizing Data Science to Predict and Improve Health Outcomes in Pediatric HIV (Administrator)
Over the past year, I have significantly advanced my administrative and data management expertise through key roles in multiple high-impact research initiatives at Makerere University. As Administrative Officer for the MakRIF Round 4, Track 2: PhD Research Grants program (since January 2023), I have provided comprehensive administrative support, ensuring meticulous record-keeping, seamless communication among research assistants, and effective management of funds and accountability. Concurrently, my work with the KwashNet Study at the Makerere University Center for Health and Population Research (MUCHAP) has honed my skills in data management, coordinating schedules, and preparing field site visits in Mayuge and Iganga. Additionally, I have contributed to the DSI Africa network's DSpace, a pivotal project at Makerere University aimed at fostering data-sharing and collaboration among African data scientists. In this role, I supported the administrative setup and management of DSpace repositories, ensuring efficient data organization and accessibility to advance health research and innovation across the continent. These experiences have strengthened my ability to manage complex research projects and contribute to transformative health initiatives in Africa.
