Dr Lori Scott-Sheldon (Participant)

Dr. Scott-Sheldon serves as the Chief of Data Science and Emerging Methodologies in HIV in the Division of AIDS at the National Institute of Mental Health where she is leading efforts to expand the sharing and reuse of HIV behavioral and biomedical data, including the use of common data elements to support data harmonization across HIV research, and promoting advances in the use and application of data science to support HIV prevention, treatment, and care. She is also actively involved in a number of trans-NIH data science activities including The Common Fund's Harnessing Data Science for Health Discovery and Innovation in Africa (DS-I Africa) where she serves as a Scientific Officer/Project Scientist for the NYU-Moi Data Science for Social Determinants Training Program (1U2RTW012121). Prior to joining NIMH, she was a Professor of Psychiatry and Human Behavior in the Alpert Medical School of Brown University where she spent over a decade engaged in HIV research that involved harmonizing and integrating large data sets, modeling HIV prevention strategies, and mentoring and training the next generation of scientists.
