    Amit Mistry, PhD, is a Senior Scientist at the Fogarty International Center, U.S. National Institutes of Health. He serves as Partnerships Liaison for DS-I Africa, encouraging networking and collaboration between the consortium and others working on data science in Africa. He also advises on science policy and leads projects on health research in humanitarian crises, climate change and health, and other emerging challenges to global health. Previously, he worked at USAID, the U.S. Congress, and Research!America. Dr. Mistry holds a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering and a doctorate in bioengineering, both from Rice University. Outside of work, he enjoys vegetarian food, reading novels, and trying to keep up with his 11-year-old son.
