  • Dr Vishen Jugathpal (Participant)

    Dr. Vishen Jugathpal is a Programme Manager at the Health Systems Trust in South Africa. He brings over 13 years' experience in public health with a special interest in HIV/AIDS, infectious diseases, health systems strengthening, evidence based medicine, research, and health information system development and implementation. He has worked closely with the South African National Department of Health in various capacities, most recently developing an electronic prescribing system for the South African public health sector. The former National Deputy Director General, NHI, appointed Dr. Jugathpal on the National Incident Management Team Committee in response to SARS-CoV-2, and the National Electronic Prescribing Committee. In addition, he provides technical assistance for the development of an electronic health record and electronic prescribing system for the Zambian Ministry of Health. He holds a bachelor's degree in pharmacy as well as a doctorate degree in clinical pharmacy from Rhodes University, South Africa.
