    Faith Kabata is a post-doctoral researcher at the University of KwaZulu Natal, DS-I Africa -LAW Project since August 2022 and a lecturer in the Department of Public Law in Kenyatta University School of Law. Her teaching and research interests are in international human rights law, human rights law and public international law. She has published on law and religion, human rights and culture, right to development and on community land rights in Africa. In 2005 she received the Notre Dame Human Rights Award Fellowship and was in 2020 cited among 106 Model Students by the University of Nairobi, School of Law. Prior to joining Kenyatta University School of Law she served as a Governance Advisor in the Presidency in Kenya, as an Assistant Executive Director in the Office of the Ombudsman in Kenya and as a Project Advisor on Good Governance in the German Technical Cooperation Programmes in Kenya. She has also conducted policy driven research for the World Bank, United Nations Development Fund, GIZ and SIDA. She obtained her Bachelor of Laws Degree from University of Nairobi, Master of Laws Degree (magna cum laude) from University of Notre Dame, IN, USA and Doctor of Laws from the University of Pretoria. She also has a Diploma in Legal Practice from the Kenya School of Law and is Advocate of the High Court of Kenya.
