Combatting AntiMicrobial Resistance in Africa Using Data Science (CAMRA)

I am a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) and MSc candidate in Molecular Biology and Genomics at Redeemer's University, Nigeria. As an MSc Research Fellow at the Institute of Genomics and Global Health (formerly ACEGID), I apply metagenomic sequencing and advanced bioinformatics to understand antimicrobial resistance (AMR) dynamics within a One Health framework. My expertise integrates laboratory and computational approaches, including next-generation sequencing, genomic data analysis, and statistical modeling. I have contributed to research spanning microbial genomics, genomic epidemiology, and AMR in both human and animal systems. Beyond research, I have demonstrated leadership and a sustained commitment to capacity building through teaching and student leadership roles. My work is driven by a commitment to leveraging data-driven approaches to generate actionable insights for infectious disease control and AMR mitigation in Africa.
