    SYNthetic Healthcare DAta Platform for Data SciEnce Training (Program Faculty)

    Melissa UWASE is a faculty member at the University of Rwanda, College of Medicine and Health Sciences, and Program Faculty for the Research Training in Data Science for Health in Rwanda (DST-HIRWA). In this role, she contributes to the implementation and management of training, including supporting trainees in their academic and research progress. She mentors trainees in the development and execution of research projects, ensures alignment with program milestones, and contributes to monitoring, reporting, and stakeholder coordination. Melissa has worked on multiple nationally and internationally funded projects, supporting project implementation, technical reporting, and collaboration with partners. Her work focuses on strengthening capacity in data science for health and advancing the use of health data to inform research and policy in resource-constrained settings.
