Advancing discovery for developmental disorders - expanded analysis of the DDD-Africa resource (Masters Student)

I am a Computer Engineer and Bioinformatician with a strong interest in applying data science and artificial intelligence to health challenges. I am currently pursuing an MSc in Computational Health Informatics at the University of Cape Town, where my research focuses on using AI to improve the identification and understanding of genetic syndromes in African populations. I work as a Bioinformatician with the African Rare Disease Initiative at the University of Kinshasa, where I contribute to research on rare and undiagnosed diseases, supporting efforts to improve diagnosis and data-driven understanding in underrepresented settings. My work combines computational biology, machine learning, and health data science, with experience in bioinformatics pipelines and tools such as Python, R, SQL, and Docker. I have also completed certifications in AI, data engineering, and cloud computing. Beyond research, I enjoy football, basketball, gym training, reading mathematics, and exploring new places.
