Role of Data Streams In Informing Infection Dynamics in Africa (Chairman, CAB)
Grace Perpetual Dafiel, PhD, LLM, BL, LLB, FCIFC, FCIMC, FCALM, ACIS, is a Nigerian legal scholar, researcher, and human security expert with over 27 years' experience in the health sector, particularly HIV, and more than 21 years in legal and protection services for women and children. Her career reflects a sustained commitment to advancing community health, strengthening protection systems, and promoting equity and human dignity. She began her professional journey in social and humanitarian programming, contributing to initiatives in HIV, malaria, child protection, gender equality, early childhood development, and economic empowerment. She has developed expertise in peacebuilding, mediation, and conflict resolution, integrating psycho-trauma counselling and community-based protection approaches to support vulnerable populations. In academia, she is a Law Lecturer and Head of Student Care Services at Thomas Adewumi University, Kwara State, with prior experience at Veritas University, Abuja. Her teaching and research focus on medical law covering SRHR, surrogacy, and health governance. Notably, she serves as Chairman of the Community Advisory Board for the IHVN INFORM Africa Project, where she leads community engagement and ethical oversight in health research, ensuring inclusive and rights-based interventions. She has consulted widely for international organisations and continues to influence policy, research, and practice in health and protection sectors.
