Integrated modeLs for Early Risk-prediction in Africa (ILERA) study (Research Scientist)

Dhriti Sengupta is a Researcher at the Sydney Brenner Institute for Molecular Bioscience, University of Witwatersrand. Her research is aimed at bridging gaps in the understanding of African population history as well as uncovering the genetic architecture of complex traits in these populations. As a member of the AWI-Gen study team, she is co-leading several population genetics and genetic association studies in this cohort. She has also worked closely with the H3Africa Bioinformatics network and Genome Analysis Working Groups on several cross-consortium projects. These include design of H3Africa array, H3A Whole Genome Sequence study and the African Genome Variation database. Her experience in working on geographic stratification of genetic diversity has played a pivotal role in some of these studies. She has a PhD in Bioinformatics from Calcutta University, India.
