    Advancing Public Health Research in Eastern Africa through Data Science Training (Co-PI)

    Awgichew Kifle is a lecturer of Biostatistics and unit head of Biostatistics at Addis Ababa University School of public health. He has a broad background in statistics, with specific training, teaching, consulting, research and expertise in secondary data analysis. In addition to working as a faculty member and researcher, he is currently pursuing his PhD at AAU in public health. Previously, he has held various leadership roles, which include serving as department head of Statistics and head of data center at JJU. Awgichew Kifle has a rich skill set in teaching, research, collaboration, and management. As part of this activity, He is actively working with the Ministry of Health by producing evidence for the Ministry for evidence-based decision-making, involving in strategic document preparation of the Ministry and supporting and advising the Ministry in strengthening the health information system. In addition to serveasaCo-PIforAPHREA-DST,he also serves as Co-PI of the CBMP project that promotes health data quality and data use in the Ministry of Health. He has the necessary knowledge and experience to manage health-related data. He has proven his skill in working as a data manager and data analyst in various projects running at the School of Public Health, Addis Ababa
