UtiliZing health Information for Meaningful impact in East Africa through Data Science (Post Doc)
Dr. Amos Kipkorir Langat is a Kenyan statistician, researcher, and academic specializing in applied statistics, mathematical modeling, and data science for public health and socio-economic systems. He holds a Ph.D. in Mathematics (Statistics Option) from the Pan African University Institute for Basic Sciences, Technology and Innovation (PAUSTI), hosted at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT), alongside an MSc in Applied Statistics (JKUAT) and a BSc in Economics and Mathematics (Kabarak University). He is currently a Postdoctoral Research Fellow under the BRIDGE Network at the Centre of Excellence in Women and Child Health-East Africa (CoEWCH-EA), Aga Khan University, Nairobi, where he focuses on Bayesian and machine learning methods, health data systems, and evidence-based decision-making in Africa. Dr. Langat has lectured at JKUAT, Kabarak University, Maasai Mara University, the Open University of Kenya, and the Technical University of Kenya, and actively supervises postgraduate students across Africa, including AIMS Rwanda, Cameroon, and Senegal. His research interests include Bayesian hierarchical modeling, spatio-temporal analysis of infectious diseases, and AI-driven predictive modeling, with proficiency in tools such as R, Python, STATA, SPSS, and R-INLA.
