I am a dedicated Ophthalmologist and Researcher based in Mbarara, Uganda. With a profound commitment to eye care, I have made significant contributions to combating preventable blindness and advancing ophthalmology in Uganda. I am currently serving as a clinical Lecturer in the Department of Ophthalmology, Mbarara University of Science and Technology, where she also pursued her postgraduate studies. In addition to my academic role, I practice as an Ophthalmologist. My research interests span various areas of ophthalmology, including artificial intelligence, Diabetic Retinopathy, Retinopathy of Prematurity, and ocular complications associated with Cryptococcal Meningitis. I have coordinated several eye surgery camps, providing comprehensive care to hundreds of patients across Uganda. Notably, I have led initiatives to develop screening protocols and databases, leveraging artificial intelligence to enhance diagnosis and treatment.

Having been recognized as an Eye Health Hero by the International Agency for Prevention of Blindness, my work exemplifies my dedication to improving eye health and empowering communities. Through my research, clinical practice, and active involvement in professional bodies, I continue to impact the field of ophthalmology, driving positive change and transforming lives in Uganda and beyond.
