Dr Daudi Jjingo - Participant
Genome-wide characterization of complex variants and their phenotypic effects in African populations (MPI)
Dr. Daudi Jjingo is MPI for the U01 characterizing the phenotypic effects of complex repeats in African genomes. He is also a member of the DSI-Africa eLwazi ODSP, on which he is a co-PI for the Ugandan node. He serves as the Director of the African Center of Excellence (ACE) in Bioinformatics and Data Science, whose mandate involves providing cutting-edge computational platforms for data-intensive biomedical research in Africa. Dr. Jjingo is a scientist and Lecturer in the department of Computer Science at Makerere University, where he is also a member of the Artificial Intelligence laboratory (AI-lab).
