    Scott Hazelhurst is professor of bioinformatics in the School of Electrical & Information Engineering and Senior Scientist at the Sydney Brenner Institute for Molecular Bioscience at the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg. He is is Co-PI of the DS-I MADIVA Research Hub, and a co-investigator on the eLwazi Open Data Science Platform. His areas of interests include bioinformatics, health informatics and high performance computing. Scott received his honours and MSc degrees from Wits and his PhD from the University of British Columbia.
