    Genome-wide characterization of complex variants and their phenotypic effects in African populations (Contact-PI)

    Prof. Jelili O. Oyelade is a Professor of Computer Science (Bioinformatics) in the Department of Computer and Information Sciences, Covenant University, Ota, Nigeria. A post-doctoral Fellow at Jena State University Hospital, Jena, Germany. He is a leader of the Covenant University Bioinformatics Research Cluster (CUBRe) ) and Academic Program Coordinator under Covenant Applied Informatics and Communication Africa Centre of Excellence (CApIC-ACE)(https://ace.covenantuniversity.edu.ng/) funded by the World Bank, Covenant University. A Principal Investigator (PI) in Covenant University funded research and a Co-I in the World Bank funded Covenant Applied Informatics and Communication African Center of Excellence (CApIC-ACE). PI, "Genome-wide characterization of complex variants and their phenotypic effects in African populations" project. Prof. Jelili O. Oyelade have the expertise, leadership, training, and motivation necessary to successfully carry out the research project in Bioinformatics research field. My research focuses on computational identification of signaling and metabolic pathways in Plasmodium falciparum, Analysis of Gene/Protein-Protein Interaction Networks, Host-pathogen protein-protein interaction (HPPPI), Machine Learning and its application to biological data. Mathematical Epidemiological modelling, etc. He has successfully trained and produced 5 Ph.Ds. and 17 MSc students.
