Combatting AntiMicrobial Resistance in Africa Using Data Science (Unknown)
I am a Snr. Consultant Clinical Microbiologist working with the International Foundation against Infectious Diseases in Nigeria (IFAIN). I direct laboratory activities in Abuja and coordinate bacteriology for the DS-1 Africa-funded Combatting Antimicrobial Resistance in Africa Using Data Science (CAMRA). In this role, I ensure accurate scientific processes and reporting of the CAMRA deliverables concerning the laboratory aspects. For the prospective component of CAMRA, my roles include accurate identification of cases and controls and proper management of animal and environmental components of the project. I graduated from Medical School in 2006, concluded my residency in Clinical Microbiology, and concluded my MSc-Infectious Diseases. I was appointed a Consultant in the National Hospital and promoted to the role of senior Consultant subsequently. I currently head the Department of Medical Microbiology at the Nile University of Nigeria in addition to serving on the CAMRA project. I am currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Clinical Microbiology.
