    Combatting AntiMicrobial Resistance in Africa Using Data Science (Co-PI)

    Dr Bernard Ebruke is a Paediatrician and clinical epidemiologist with significant experience in the design and implementation of clinical research studies and program support, supporting collaborations with partners within and outside Africa. His research experience has included research studies evaluating the epidemiology of infectious diseases in children, particularly those with increased risk of respiratory infections across diverse healthcare settings. Dr Ebruke currently serves as Country Director for Research at the International Foundation Against Infectious Disease in Nigeria. In his current role, he has been responsible for the set-up and coordination of surveillance programs for infectious diseases of interest including surveillance for epidemic meningitis in Northern parts of Nigeria. More recently, he has been involved in coordinating multiple surveillance programs for antimicrobial resistance in vulnerable populations in Nigeria. Dr Ebruke currently serves on the Nigerian National Antimicrobial Stewardship Task force, set-up to strengthen antimicrobial stewardship programs in the country. Prior to his current role, he contributed to design and implementation of several research studies at the MRC UK The Gambia, including the multi-country pneumonia etiology research for child health (PERCH) study.
