CHaracterizing Effects of Air Quality In Maternal, Newborn and Child Health: The CHEAQI-MNCH Research Project (MPI)

I am a research scientist at IBM Research Africa, with a PhD in physics. I am part of the future of climate team which focuses on research relating to the applications of AI in climate sciences and sustainability. I am actively involved in HE2AT Centre projects, specifically working on research project 2; high-resolution heat hazard mapping, urban heat island detection and population vulnerability assessment based on environmental, socio-economic influences. I am co-MPI on the CHEAQI-MNCH project which aims to characterize the effects of air quality in maternal, newborn and child health. I look forward to advancing impactful solutions to fundamental problems in climate and environmental sciences through AI while having a significant contribution to the research and technology industries.
