    Advancing Public Health Research in Eastern Africa through Data Science Training (APHREA-DST) (MSc trainee)

    Valine Okeyo is a dedicated and ambitious Public Health Data Science MSc. Trainee at the University of Nairobi, where she is pursuing her passion for using data-driven approaches to address public health challenges. With a keen interest in data science, Valine's research focuses on predicting respiratory illnesses attributed to PM2.5 air pollution in Nairobi, Kenya, using Random Forest modeling techniques.
    Currently immersed in her MSc. program, Valine combines her academic rigor with practical experience, seeking innovative solutions to real-world health problems. Her project underscores her commitment to leveraging data analytics for public health intervention strategies, particularly in regions impacted by environmental hazards. Her dedication to improving community health outcomes extends beyond the classroom, as she actively seeks opportunities to apply her expertise in meaningful ways.
    As an early career researcher, Valine embodies a holistic approach to academia, blending technical proficiency with a deep sense of social responsibility. Her drive, coupled with her interdisciplinary background, positions her as a promising leader in the field of public health data science.
