Data Science for Child Health Now in Ghana (DS-CHANGE) (MSc trainee)

I am an ambitious biochemist turned biomedical data scientist, currently engaged in advanced studies at the exciting intersection of data science and healthcare. My academic journey began at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, where I earned a bachelor's degree in Biochemistry and Biotechnology. During my undergraduate years, I delved into clinical biochemistry and molecular biology, participating in research that explored the biochemical foundations of complex diseases. This experience provided a profound understanding of biochemical pathways and molecular interactions essential for disease diagnosis and treatment.

Motivated by a desire to leverage technology to enhance healthcare, I shifted my focus to biomedical data science for my graduate studies at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology under the DS-CHANGE grant. My current research harnesses machine learning and data science to transform diagnostics and disease management. I am particularly focused on developing predictive models and intelligent systems capable of analyzing extensive datasets to identify disease patterns, predict outcomes, and suggest personalized management strategies. One notable project involves a non-invasive method for the early detection of neonatal jaundice using machine learning to analyze images of the skin and sclera, potentially revolutionizing its diagnosis and management.

Committed to lifelong learning and collaboration, I aim to contribute to revolutionary advances in healthcare by integrating data-driven technologies with medical science, enhancing both diagnostic tools and therapeutic approaches.
