    Alfred Ssekagiri is a bioinformatics PhD fellow supported by the Nurturing Bioinformatics and Genomics Research Capacity in Africa (BRecA) training program at Makerere University. As part of the fellowship, Alfred is assessing the impact of minority HIV-1 drug resistant variants in HIV-1 patients on Dolutegravir-based regimens. Prior to that, he obtained his B.Sc. from Makerere University where he studied Mathematics, physics with education. He later joined African Institute for Mathematical sciences where he obtained MSc. in Mathematical sciences. Alfred received an MSc. in Bioinformatics from University of Glasgow and has participated as H3ABioNet bioinformatics associate at Uganda Virus Research Institute.
