    Alexander Pearson, MD, PhD is Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Chicago and a quantitative scientist and a practicing medical oncologist. He is the Director of the Head and Neck Cancer Program and Director of Data Sciences in the Section of Hematology/Oncology, and also maintains a Joint Appointment at Argonne National Laboratory. Dr. Pearson is an active computational oncology researcher, and has published more than 100 manuscripts, reviews, and book chapters. His research centers on the application of emerging quantitative techniques from the fields of deep learning, high-dimensional statistics, and systems biology to clinically oriented challenges, with a focus on reducing global cancer disparities. Dr. Pearson is active in computational oncology education initiatives and serves on organizing committees including for the ASCO Annual Meeting, the ASCO Breakthrough Meeting, and the NIH National Advisory Dental and Craniofacial Research Council for NIDCR data science strategy.
