    Dusty is an admitted advocate of the High Court of South Africa, and a senior lecturer in the School of Law at the University of KwaZulu-Natal. Her research focusses on the impact of data protection laws and the regulation of AI applications in health care, business and research. Her PhD thesis (UKZN, 2020) studied data protection in the mobile applications ecosystem under South African, US and EU law, and featured in The Conversation Africa: The 'privacy by design' approach for mobile apps: why it's not enough
