  • Mr Mamadou D. Coulibaly - Speaker

eLwazi (Open Data Science Platform) (PhD Trainee)

My name is Mamadou D. COULIBALY, 35 years old. I was born in Ségou, Mali, where I spent my childhood combining dairy cow breeding activities and school education. So, in 2005, I obtained a Baccalaureate degree in Biological Science. It was then necessary to leave this historic city for my University studies in our capital, Bamako. I then had access to the Faculty of Science and Technology, University of Bamako. In 2009, I obtained a master's degree in Biochemistry and Microbiology. I thus began a professional career in research as a Research Assistant at the Applied Molecular Biology Laboratory initially, at the Center for Vaccine Development (CVD-Mali) THEN at the HIV Research and Training Center and Tuberculosis (SEREFO). During this time, I did two online University Diploma at the University of Bordeaux, in Nutritional Epidemiology and in Methods and Practices and epidemiology. After five years professional life, I decided to do a Master's degree in Bioinformatics. Hence my passion for Data Science. So, for my final thesis, I opted for a subject about Electronic data collection tools development. Since obtaining this Master's degree, I am Data Manager at the University Clinical Research Center (UCRCMali) where I participate daily in: Electronic Data collection tools development, Data collection monitoring, Data quality control as well as certain Preliminary Analyses. In everyday life, I am passionate about sports and hiking. As active citizen, I have chaired or participated in several associations or humanitarian clubs. My professional or social interventions certainly have a lot of impact on populations in my country. I now have a great passion for learning more in Data Science and also for sharing what little I know with great pleasure.
