    Eneza Data Science: Enhancing Data Science Capability and Tools for Health in East Africa (Contact-PI)

    Dan Masiga is an infectious diseases scientist with a strong commitment to research and building capacity for reduce the impact of vector-borne diseases. He focuses on creating knowledge and technologies for the sustainable control of infectious diseases that are spread by arthropods (e.g. mosquitoes, ticks, and sand flies). He is PI of ENEZA Data Science Training grant, having led the Eastern Africa Bioinformatics Network (EANBiT), and the H3ABioNet node at the International Centre of Insect Physiology and Ecology (icipe). Collaborating with the Aga Khan University in Nairobi, the Ministry of Health and other partners, he will work with ENEZA Data Science teams to enhance knowledge and skills to grow the application of data science tools to generate valuable knowledge to improve health outcomes.
