    Growing Data-science Research in Africa to Stimulate Progress (GRASP) (Contact-PI)

    Mayowa Ojo OWOLABI DrM, MD, FMCP, FRCP, FANA, FAAN, FAHA, FAAS, FAS, FAMedS, is a Professor of Neurology, and Director, Center for Genomic and Precision Medicine, University of Ibadan. He is an expert in implementation science and translational genomic epidemiology of cardiovascular diseases. He is the Principal Investigator of numerous internationally funded grants including the DSI Africa grant 'Growing Data-science Research in Africa to Stimulate Progress' (GRASP). He is among the top 10 Nigerian scientists among the global top 2% scientists and the winner of the 2021 World Stroke Organization Global Award for Outstanding Contributions to Clinical Stroke Research. He has 400 publications with h-index of 83 and over 116,000 citations. He is the pioneer Regional Vice-President, World Federation of Neurorehabilitation (Africa); member Board of Directors, World Stroke Organization; African Regional Director, World Hypertension League; Lead Co-Chair, WSO-Lancet Commission on stroke. He is foundation co-chair of the steering committee of African Stroke Organization; and Member/Rapporteur of the WHO Technical Action Group on NCD (Research and Innovation). He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Neurology, Royal College of Physicians, Nigerian Academy of Science, African Academy of Science and Atria Academy of Science and Medicine.
