Developing data science solutions to mitigate the health impacts of climate change in Africa: the HE2AT Center (HEAT) (Post Doc)

I am a research scientist at IBM Research Africa, with a PhD in physics. I am part of the future of climate team which focuses on research relating to the applications of AI in climate sciences and sustainability. I am actively involved in the HE2AT Centre projects, specifically working on high-resolution heat hazard mapping, population vulnerability assessment based on environmental and socio-economic influences, as well as a supplementary project which aims to characterize the effects of air quality in maternal, newborn and child health. I look forward to advancing impactful solutions to fundamental problems in climate and environmental sciences through AI while having a significant contribution to the research and technology industries.
