Joseph W Hogan Carole and Lawrence Sirovich Professor of Public Health, Professor of Biostatistics, Chair of Biostatistics My research concerns the development of statistical methods for missing data, causal inference, and sensitivity analysis, with focus on applications in HIV/AIDS. As part of my collaborations, I serve as Co-Director of the Biostatistics Program for AMPATH, an international consortium of universities in the US, Canada and Kenya focused on treatment and prevention of HIV in Kenya and co-Director of the Biostatistics Core for the Providence-Boston Center for AIDS Research. My basic and collaborative research is funded by the NIH and NSF. Between 2017 and 2021 I served as Deputy Director for the Data Science Initiative at Brown. My teaching includes both introductory and advanced courses in biostatistics, and I supervise 2-3 PhD and masters students at any given time. For the past several years I have co-led an NIH-funded international training program designed to build research capacity in biostatistics at Moi University in Kenya.
