    Dr. Philomena Ngugi is a faculty of Moi University in the Institute of Biomedical Informatics where she teaches multiple subjects in health informatics. Her research work includes evaluation of Electronic Medical Records (EMRs) implementations in Kenya from which she developed standard indicators to assess the use of electronic health record systems implemented in low-and medium-income countries. She has been involved in providing ICT solutions in the health sector such as the development and implementation of Laboratory information systems. Dr. Ngugi is also a curriculum and eLearning content developer for various health informatics courses for different levels of study. Her current research focus is on the application of machine learning techniques on health data for modeling and prediction to support better health outcomes.
