Second Meeting of the DS-I Africa Consortium
29 October -2 November 2022
Primary tabs
The DS-I Africa Coordinating Center and NIH partnerships team will host a Networking Exchange during the annual DS-I Africa Consortium Meeting. The goal of the Networking Exchange is to encourage networking within the DS-I Africa consortium as well as with potential partners outside of the consortium. The Networking Exchange is tentatively scheduled as a two-hour event during the evening of Tuesday, 1 November. This informal event will be in-person only, similar to a scientific poster session, and will be open to any organization working on data science and health in Africa. DS-I Africa Consortium members: All DS-I Africa consortium members will already be participating in the Networking Exchange through poster presentations. If you are interested in an additional poster space for your own organization (separate from the DS-I Africa award), please email Francis (ds-i-africa.admin@uct.ac.za) and Amit (amit.mistry@nih.gov) with your name, organization, and a brief statement about your organization.
Organizations outside of DS-I Africa: If you are interested in participating and can travel to Cape Town at your own expense, we invite you to join us for the Networking Exchange. You are also invited to attend other portions of the Consortium Meeting for a registration fee. If you are interested in attending, please register here via RedCap as soon as possible and no later than October 14, 2022. Please note that participants must be able to travel to the meeting at their own expense, attending other portions of the meeting is subject to registration fees and seating availability.
Several different types of organizations will be invited to participate in the Networking Exchange.
- DS-I Africa awardees
- Invited guests
- NIH Program Officers / Scientific Officers – NIH staff attending the meeting will also be available to answer questions and discuss their work, including other NIH programs that may be of interest to the group (e.g., Bridge2AI, African Post-Doctoral Training Initiative)
