Etse Yawo Dzakpa is a Postdoc fellow in climate sciences, economics, and health at the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences Research and Innovation Center (AIMS-RIC) in Rwanda. His research focuses on developing statistical and mathematical frameworks to assess the impact of climate change on human well-being. Specifically, Dzakpa investigates the effects of climate change on waterborne diseases, such as diarrhea, and vector-borne diseases like malaria. He also explores the implications of climate change for economic development, energy use, and sustainable food systems. Dzakpa earned his Ph.D. in Climate Science and Economics through the West African Science Service Centre on Climate Change and Adapted Land Use (WASCAL) program, which he completed at Cheikh Anta Diop University in Dakar, Senegal, and RWTH Aachen University in Germany. As a young, dynamic, and enthusiastic researcher, Dzakpa is committed to enhancing climate risk management and promoting socioeconomic development in developing countries, particularly in Africa.
